Lodge 99*
Yoking the frieze of its parabola and
rosaries,
the elect see Eddy motion the Mongol’s
tengri
with a lariat to cluster a hadith:
a pitchblende
rescuing the Most High from
tatterdemalions.
The belched words loaf. Eddy tweets: “a
sweet
zombie Jesus zipperhead cocks a procreant
urge,”
from a hyperactive account. The elect
become
a flashmob and gangrape a bronze mascot.
Eddy
admires his whatchamacallits and
zomviruses,
admires himself as throwback or new coming
in the postseason with fireworks.
Overriding
is impossible. It’s a rerun of a cable
program
called Night of Lodge 99, filmed in
Reykjavík
Iceland. Eddy sneers. We have betrayed
him.
