A Love Poem

Someday when you are older and the days are
shorter, you will be nodding by a cozy fire in
the Ben Franklin, reading my poems, and
reminiscing about riding horses and planting
herbs in your garden’s warm loam. I will be
watching you from across the room, you with
the soft gray hair, brown eyes, and beautiful
engaging smile.

I have always loved you and now more than
ever as you change into the soft glow of aging
loveliness. I look into your pleasant face and
soft brown eyes that have always sparkled and
I see a loving wisdom gleaming from within and
once again know why I loved you so much in
the past, love you more now, and will love you
even more, in the far distant future.
