At The Gala

Metallic lipstick bling’s candy apple red, new

shoes-- thick straps, thin, backless, toeless,

wedges, platforms, spikes, knee high boots

with zippers, art on display, a dress cutout

where ones breast protrudes behind fancy

stiches, all different except three hot orange

pieces-this years color. How many pierced

earrings can an ear hold? People stare at fancy

sparkled tops, shear, clear, worn with a flat

rear, studs of course decorate belts or bags

of leather, snake skin, burnished gold. This

is not your environmentalist's party I fear.
