Sepia Silk

draped in sepia silk brocade
alone, pacing the dusty room
arranging flowers to fill the space
where sunlight fades to blue-dusk moon

"we used to meet there by the river
to watch water-lilies shiver in the sun

the leaves a colored carpet made
you covered me in silk brocade."

hours ebb, a spider crawls
dead petals fall to floor
yesterday's paraphrase
paradise no more.
